The Lake Mills Main Street Program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster downtown revitalization and promote economic redevelopment, while preserving our heritage. We work together with businesses, local government, civic organizations and individuals to enrich the quality of life in Lake Mills. We celebrate this community as a great place to live, work and visit.

We believe downtown is not just a place, but a symbol. A symbol of the economic health of a community, a symbol of the quality of life of the people who live there. Downtown gives us a sense of our history and of pride in our community. It is the literal and figurative heart of a town.

Great downtowns don’t just happen – there has to be a vision of what the downtown can become, there has to be strong leaders willing to do what it takes to succeed, there has to be constant management and there has to be participation by all members of a community. In Lake Mills we are extremely fortunate to have all those elements in the Lake Mills Main Street Program. We are supported in our mission by our members, both individual and business, and our volunteers. Please see out website for more information.

Lake Mills / Aztalan Historical Museum

Located in an old church and a collection of log cabins 2 miles East of Lake Mills, the Aztalan Museum contains displays of many items representative of the pioneer settlement of this area, as well as artifacts of prehistoric Indian culture. The museum is open May 15 through September 30. Thursday-Sunday, 12 noon to 4pm. Special hours for bus tours are available.
