JCLCThe Jefferson County Literacy Council (JCLC), the only non-profit adult and family literacy organization in the county, is committed to providing instruction to adults with literacy needs, information to families about enhancing their children’s literacy, and advocacy for improved literacy in our communities. JCLC provides 1-to-1 and small group instruction to adults in reading, writing, speaking, math, English as a Second Language,¬†GED prep, computer and job skills, and US citizenship prep, as well as family programs. We also have a jail program, with an emphasis on reducing recidivism.
